General repairs

IMPORTANT!

Before making interior repairs, follow these basic steps:

Turn off Power Switch

Disconnect Power Cord at back of machine

3

Remove Ice Hopper

4

Remove Side Panels

5

Remove Drive Cover

Wait 30 seconds after disconnecng power before removing drive board cover.

Electrostatic Discharge Protection ESD – Short for electrostac discharge – the rapid discharge of stac electricity from one conductor to another of a different potenal. An electrostac discharge can damage integrated circuits found in computer and communications equipment. Follow instructions where noted.

PART 1

MAIN POWER BOARD DESCRIPTION

DESCRIPTION

The Main Power Board funcons as the control center of the Shaver/Blender.

TROUBLE SHOOTING

A. On occasion, water damage may occur due to condensation build-up on the Power Board. This will cause the unit to malfunction.

REPLACEMENT

1. Remove side panels screws.

2. Remove side panel.

• Insert flat screwdriver in screw hole and bow cover slightly.

• Insert fingers under bottom edge of panel and pull downward.

3. Remove screw (black box to post).

4. Remove black box cover.

5. Take ESD Wriststrap and attach clip to ground post and other side on wrist 6. Remove connectors (5).

7. Lift black box and pivot around left front post.

8. Remove black box

PART 2

DRINK DISPLAY BOARD

DESCRIPTION

Serves as the main control center for all funcons of the machine.

TROUBLE SHOOTING

If Drink Board functions do not work properly, check connections to Main Power Board and for any condensation build-up on wire connections. Before replacing Drink Board, plug in a new board and test functions.

REPLACEMENT

1. Remove side panels screws.

2. Remove side panels.

• Insert flat screwdriver in screw hole and bow cover slightly.

• Insert fingers under bottom edge of panel and pull downward.

3. Disconnect wire connections to Main Power Board.

4. Remove Ground Screw

5. Remove the four nuts securing the top frame

6. Disconnect the drain line from the upper drain port connector. Remove the top frame. Remove the 3 screws securing the front cover.

7. Remove the six screws securing the drink board. Follow reverse procedures to install the new drink board. Do not over tighten when replacing.

8. Make certain drink board is placed into position properly. Note that the connector wires sit to the right of the board.

PART 3

SHAVER MOTOR

DESCRIPTION

Power supply for the ice shaving function.

TROUBLE SHOOTING

If Shaver Motor won’t run, check the following:

1. Power supply

2. Reset button

3. Safety switch (hopper/cover)

4. Jamming of ice bowl

5. Possible broken hex coupling

6. Shaver motor for damage

7. Drink board selector

8. Main power board

REPLACEMENT

1. Remove side panels screws.

2. Remove side panel.

• Insert flat screwdriver in screw hole and bow cover slightly.

• Insert fingers under bottom edge of panel and pull downward.

3. Remove screw (black box to post).

4. Remove black box cover.

PART 4

BLENDER MOTOR

DESCRIPTION

Power supply for the ice shaving function.

TROUBLE SHOOTING

5. Possible broken hex coupling

6. Shaver motor for damage

PART 5

HEX COUPLING

DESCRIPTION

Plastic break-away nut used as a safety device to protect the shaver motor from damage in the event of a jam created by a foreign object.

TROUBLE SHOOTING

If the machine does not shave, but the motor is running check the following:

1. Blade adjustment

2. Possible broken hex coupling

REPLACEMENT

1. Remove ice hopper

2. Remove shaver section

3. Remove broken hex coupling

4. Replace with new hex coupling

PART 6

SPLASH/GUARD ICE CHUTE

SPLASH GUARD

 

TO INSTALL:

hook rear of splash guard over back lip of ice chute and pull up over front of chute.

TO REMOVE: Metal

Grip front of splash guard and pull down

Plastic

Push up and gently pull towards the operator

ICE CHUTE

 

TO REMOVE:

Metal

Locate white plasc key to right of splash guard. Grip key and push up to compress. Rotate key to le (counter clockwise) to unlock chute. Gently pull on chute to disengage.

Plastic

Depress 2 tabs and pull straight down

TO INSTALL:

Metal

Engage two hooks on chute into two notches on machine. Holding the key, lift chute into posion. Push up on key to compress and rotate key (clockwise) to lock into place.

Plastic

Push straight up untill you hear the ice chute “click” into place.

PART 7

ICE SHAVER BLADE

The Shaver Blade is a double edge design that cannot be resharpened.

TROUBLE SHOOTING

• If the shaved ice becomes inconsistent in the texture, check blade for damage and dullness. Replace blade if necessary.

• If there is not enough ice being shaved, check blade for dullness. In this case, the blade can be re-adjusted higher to give you the ice flow needed. Or timing can be adjusted to give ice flow needed.

REPLACEMENT METAL

1. Remove Ice Hopper.

2. Unscrew and remove ice scrambler

3. Remove the (3) nuts securing the conical case, lift out conical case. 4. Remove screw securing blade to the assembly and replace.

5. When a new blade is installed, you must read just the ice flow.

REPLACEMENT PLASTIC

1. Remove Ice Hopper.

2. Unscrew and remove ice scrambler

3. Remove the (3) nuts securing the conical case, lift out conical case.

4. (Use extreme cauon) slide plastic blade cartridge out of conical base.

5. When a new blade is installed, you must read just the ice flow.

PART 8

ON/OFF RESET SWITCH

DESCRIPTION

Provides power to the machine and is also used to reset the main control board in the event of a shaver or blender motor lock.

TROUBLE SHOOTING

If there is no power to the machine check the following:

1. Outlet

2. Power cord – to machine and to outlet

3. Toggle switch

4. Main power board fuse

REPLACEMENT

1. Disconnect power cord from the outlet.

2. Gently pull out toggle switch from the panel (keep wires connected).

3. Using a pair of needle nose pliers, remove wire connectors one at a me and reconnect to the new switch.

4. Remount switch into panel 

PART 9

DRAIN SYSTEM

The Shaver Blade is a double edge design that cannot be resharpened.

TROUBLE SHOOTING

PART 10

BLENDER CUP

The Blender Cup was designed with no replaceable wear items and will only sit on the blender base in one posion.

*Note: Never wash in the dishwasher
